Welcome to our website : We are a small in home cattery, raising one litter at a time. Our bengals are raised in the home underfoot. They are well socialized in a family environment with children and other pets. The kittens are handled from the moment they are born, to make the best socialized kittens possible. All of our cats are treated as though they are our pets. We pride ourselves with a clean and healthy cattery and handlable cats....... Quality, NOT Quantity! In order to get a bengal they crossed an asian leopard cat and a domestic. The first three generations bred down (F-1 thru F-3) from the ALC is considered to be foundation cats. Four generations down (F-4) or more is called an SBT, aka: Domestic Cat. Bengals come in many colors and they can be either spotted or marbled. Their coats can be glittered or non-glittered, both are exceptable. Some bengals have the sheen that the asian leopard cats have and some do not. Most bengals have a pelt like fur that doesn't shed like a normal domestic cat. Bengals are very dog like.....They like to play fetch, can be leash-harness trained, and most of all they LOVE water! Bengals are truly a joy to have as a pet. Many people who have bengals say,"they are addicting and you can't have just one". They are wonderful with children, other cats and pets, and "yes" , they love dogs. Here at Callista Bengals we are striving for the cats/kittens that most resemble the asian leopard cat; in color, type, and coat, where the bengals originally derived from. With the temperment of the domestic. We are members and registered cattery of TICA and a member of TIBCS & TIBCC. We are USDFW Class III licensed.
